This Weekend

This weekend was a blast. Friday night I went on a Turkey Hunt with my youth group and Kevin and Angie's youth group. We were all divided into random teams... and after a little convincing I got Cahlen, De, and me on the same team... I tried for Conner but he was already in another assigned group : ( Angie and this really sweet gentleman named Marlo were our drivers! We went out and we had to go into various stores and "Gobble, Gobble" at strangers until we found the right person. If it was the right person, they would give us a clue and send us to our next destination. In the end, my team got the champion position! After the Hunt we went and had a nice turkey dinner....yum! Since my team reined victorious... we ate first! I had some goodness, turkey, mash taters, and corn!!! It was a night full of fellowship. I was so happy to see my "team member" and Kevin... since it had been long since we parted! After the bash, De came over to my house and we had a little tet-a-tet. In the morning we went and got breakfast at Dahl's with my gift certificate. After that, De left, and I called Alex... we spent the whole day relishing in his return. I had my last Highest Call class Saturday night! I went home and checked the mail... to find a certain jewel that would define my future... ACT score! I got a score that enabled me to apply to the college of my dreams... Iowa! Sunday, I went to church! It was a good service... PT's message was good! Then I went home and awaited a very significant phone call... The Dad! I was so jovial when he called to tell me he would be in town soon. I got to see him and spend a couple hours with his girlfriend and him. She bought me a necklace! She was sooo sweet! It was nice to see my dad happy, but in the same sense a little weird because I have never really ever seen him with anyone but my step- mom! It was a short, sweet visit! After that, I headed off to youth! Youth was great! Sara and I battled it out and we pushed eachother a lot. She rubbed it in my face that there isn't a for sure place for me in the McGinnis family... she'll see... j/k! Following, I went home and talked to Alex... then went to bed! Monday morning, I scheduled a meeting with my dean to talk about college! I showed him my score... he was amazed ( I don't know why)! We talked about college planning (fafsa). Monday night, after work, I went home and applied for college... scary! I am so nervous! My dean reassured me that he was 99.99999% sure I would gain access to my dream! I am a little worried about that .00001%! I have to wait 4 to 6 weeks until I get my letter of acceptance! God rewarded me with a score that would get me into college! I didn't do any of that in my own strength! Today, I woke up at like 6:20 to go swim at the YMCA to make- up a swimming session I missed... then off to school! My dean told me he was sending my transcripts and ACT scores... he said the best thing I can do is worry... LOL he is a dork! Alex left on the train today at approximately 1:30!!! I am ready for him to come home! It will be a blast. We have a whole day of ThanksgivingS to spend just chillin'! Well... I have a lot of reading to do! Alex is home in like 12 hours from now.... ME
